Fear out of Sight

My eyes were startling behind the stage
The nervousness had started to grow on me
Five minutes before, I remembered the age,
where I was confident and not afraid of the stage.

It started by winning the elocution, my voice was confident and stern,
But today my voice has frozen and I’ve become tongue-tied.

Why am I scared today? Why am I afraid to step out into the world?
This uneasiness crept in and it’s pulling me down into the abyss!
I realised I had this feeling years ago when I had chosen my path.

The journey of a lifetime could only be achieved by removing this feeling,
And for that, I had to face the music and be my self.

My objective was to move the world through my words
And hear the sounds of my voice echoing through the hallowed hall.
I took a deep breath and reiterated my piece,
Encouraged myself and stepped into the light

To shine on this world, while I let my Fear Fade out of sight
